A native of Teaneck, New Jersey, I first fell in love with writing in high school. This love was furthered at Vassar College, where I graduated
in 1999 with a BA and departmental honors in religion and
political science.
Like most college seniors, I was unsure what steps to take after college. I had always excelled at research and writing, but didn’t yet know how to capitalize on these skills. One of my favorite professors at Vassar noted my talent in a general recommendation she gave me at the time, writing, “No matter what path she chooses, it is clear that Lauri will have the writing life.”
In the decade since, the writing life has led me to hold such positions as a bylined newspaper reporter (for the Morning Sun (Montrose, CO)); a proofreader/copyeditor of academic journals (at Prentice Hall); a senior developmental editor of young adult non-fiction (for Lucent Books); a writer of non-fiction books for educational and trade publishers (among them, Greenhaven Press); and other positions that have honed my ability to communicate complex ideas to a lay audience. It was these experiences and my ongoing love of writing that led me to found LSF Editorial, a writing, editing, and ghostwriting outfit. |
